VISSBOX – Physics-Based Cyber Defense for UxS Mission Continuity
VISSBOX is a hardware-based cyber defense device that hardens unmanned systems (UxS) against hostile electronic warfare measures such as jamming, spoofing, and cyber exploitation. Instead of relying on vulnerable software defenses, VISSBOX enforces security through physical isolation and unidirectional data flows. Incoming control signals are processed on a “Victim Module” with an immutable operating system that resets to zero at every reboot. Outgoing information is transferred only via optical imaging, ensuring that no malware, spoofed data, or manipulated code can propagate into the protected system.
This radically reduces the attack surface of UxS control stations and field endpoints, guaranteeing operational resilience even under strong adversarial electronic countermeasures. VISSBOX complements active EW counter-strategies by providing a unique layer of passive, hardware-enforced endpoint protection. Its modular design, dual-use applicability, and ease of deployment make it highly relevant for both military and civilian critical infrastructures.
